ALITALIA Security rules

European Union and the Italian Civil Aviation Authority have introduced security rules that limit the amount of liquid substances passengers can take through airport security checks. The new security measures apply to all passengers departing from airports in the European Union including Norway, Iceland and Switzerland, and travelling to any destination.

What has changed

Passengers will be allowed to carry on board small quantities of liquids only. Liquids should be carried in individual containers with a maximum capacity of 100ml. / 3.4oz. or equivalent (100gr.). All items will have to be carried in a clear, transparent, re-sealable, one-litre capacity (e.g. 18x20cm in size) plastic bag. Only one plastic bag will be allowed per passenger.

What hasn’t changed

It is still allowed to:

  • transport liquids in registered baggage which will have to be declared when checking-in, and are approved by the airline. The new rules only apply to hand baggage.
  • bring on board medicines or foods for specific dietary requirements (including baby food) needed for the duration of travel; you may be requested to provide proof that these items are needed.

PURCHASES:

It is still possible to buy items (including liquids) in shops located after security checks, or on board aircraft operated by airlines registered in European Community member countries
For items purchased whilst in transit to a country outside of the European Community, specific packaging requirements may apply for that country. Further information can be found at place of purchase.

Cosa è consentito portare a mano
